Telecommunications

Telecommunications services are provided by two companies in Virginia: Mid-Atlantic Broadband operates an open-access network with more than 1,500 route miles of fiber throughout the region, and Verizon南 provides primary telecommunications services.

Water and Wastewater

的 Greensville County Water and Sewer Authority (GCWSA) provides public water and wastewater services to most of Greensville County and several nearby communities. 的 County’s primary water supply comes from the Nottoway River.

GCWSA oversees the acquisition, 建设, 操作, and maintenance of water systems, 污水管道系统, and sewage disposal systems. Any structure located within 200 feet of the public right-of-way, in which public water or sewer mains are located, is required to utilize GCWSA services unless a non-user status is granted by the Authority.

Solid Waste Disposal

Greensville County operates its own 垃圾填埋场 located on Maclins Creek Road, four miles west of Emporia and north of US 58. Industrial and commercial waste is accepted at the County 垃圾填埋场 at the current rate of $56 per ton.

Greensville also operates eleven refuse disposal facilities around the County for collection of paper, corrugated cardboard, 铝, and other products eligible for recycling.
